Gone Boarding

Warsaw Schools invites parents and community members to join us for the opening of the "Next Wave: Surf the Saw" art exhibition, featuring several of our high school students. The opening reception will be held on Friday, July 12th, from 6-9 pm at Atelier Gallery, 104 East Center Street, Warsaw, IN , which will feature live music, a Kona Ice truck, an exhibition merch shop and the opportunity to meet the student artists.

From July 12 to August 31 (Wednesdays and Thursdays 11am - 4pm, Fridays and Saturdays 11am - 8pm), Atelier Gallery will transform into a surf shack showcasing surf-related art created by our student artists. The exhibition includes handcrafted and painted stand-up paddleboards, longboards, wakeboards and skate decks, as well as film, sculpture, painting and installation art.

This summer show is a collaboration between Atelier Director Sea Grandon and WCHS artist and Warsaw Area Career Center (WACC) instructor Andrea Miller.  Most of the artwork comes from the WCHS Gone Boarding program, part of the Design Graphics Pathway in the Engineering & Technology Department of the Warsaw Area Career Center. Students in this program design and construct various boards, including surfboards, stand-up paddleboards, wakeboards and skateboards, gaining hands-on experience in design, prototyping and building.
