Eisenhower Elementary School proudly celebrated its ISA Designation during a ceremony that highlighted the accomplishments of its Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program. Students, teachers, administrators and community members gathered to recognize this significant milestone.
Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert opened the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of the DLI program in fostering both academic success and a deeper appreciation for global cultures. Mrs. Jenna Moreé introduced two 6th-grade students, Parker Sale and Cecilia King, who shared their personal experiences in the program. Parker, who aspires to be a doctor and spoke about how DLI has expanded his horizons. Cecilia described her "superpower" of being able to connect with people from other cultures, a skill she attributes to the DLI program.
The event also featured a slideshow and videos illustrating the program’s achievements. Dr. Juan González, Counselor of Education for the Embassy of Spain, and Dr. Diego Blázquez, Education Attaché from the Spanish Embassy, were present to offer remarks and to officially present the ISA certification, a prestigious recognition for the school.
"We are thrilled to receive this designation and grateful for the support of our community," said Dr. Hoffert. "This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff, and it reinforces our commitment to a successful K-12 Dual Language Immersion Program."
Looking ahead, Lakeview, Leesburg and Warsaw Community High School also plan to apply for this recognition once they become eligible—one year after their building-wide DLI implementation.
