The Riley Jamboree took place at Harrison on March 14th! 120 students stayed after school to participate in 6 teacher-led rotations. From camp songs and games, to STEM with Mr. Graney, board games, art projects, dodgeball, Mad Libs, and even dancing and pizza! With these awesome students and over 30 amazing staff members volunteering, we were able to raise $500 for Riley Children’s Hospital! Way to go Husky Family! #WCSmission #ExperienceWCS #leadership

Thank you so much to the Warsaw Education Foundation for the grant they provided for our 6th graders to have ukuleles! We've been having a great time in music class learning about the ukulele and playing our first chords. We really appreciate the opportunity to be able to have these for years to come! #ExperienceWCS #WCSmission #Leadership

In the month of January we learned about Habit 5: seek first to understand, then to be understood. We also focused on goal setting & having accountability partners. Last Friday we had our second family group meeting. During this time, 6th grade students & teachers discussed goal-setting. Afterward, everyone played passing the ball to practice setting goals. We ended family groups with a valentine's activity. As a school, everyone came up with one thing they loved about Harrison. Miss. Murphy, with the help of all the huskies at Harrison, made a beautiful mural outside the art room. #Leadership #WCSmission #ExperienceWCS

Our ELL huskies published a book! Every student researched an animal and wrote about what makes it unique and special. "In addition to learning writing skills, lessons in teamwork and collaboration were gained as they worked together to plan the book from start to the finished product"-Mrs. Howard Students named the book "If I Could Be an Animal." They decided to dedicate this book to Mr.Deeds. He was invited as a special guest and read the book to the students. We are so proud of our ELL huskies and Mrs. Howard for this amazing learning opportunity! #ExperienceWCS #WCSmission #leadership

Last Friday, we had our first family group meeting. During this time, students are in different classrooms, ranging from K–6th grade. 6th graders and teachers are co-teaching. This month we focused on habit 4: "think win-win". We practiced our 7 habits hand motions, stated our mission statement, & shared experiences with think-win-win, and voted on different scenarios to see if they were think-win-win. Afterwards, all students traced their hands and cut them out to make a huge hand Christmas tree with all our students at Harrison to remind ourselves that we are all a team and we are all leaders. We can't wait to meet with our family groups next month! #WCSmission #ExperienceWCS #leadership
