🎉 The excitement for the new school year is truly in the air as we gear up with a series of amazing training sessions! ✨ Mr. Deeds, Mrs. Lunsford and Dr. Barkey participated in a dynamic training for the Leader in Me implementation at Lincoln and Harrison, gearing up to empower and lead their schools to success. 🌟 The WCS board and Cabinet teams had a power-packed Annual Board Bootcamp, featuring insightful panels with WCS administrators, teachers, and students. 📚 The EL department hosted an enriching EL Orientation Day, bringing together EL teachers from across the district. The morning was all about collaboration and setting the stage for a great year. 🚌 Our incredible WCS Transportation Department held their Back-to-School Meeting, making sure everything is set for a smooth start to the 2023/24 school year. They're revving their engines and ready to roll! And that's not all! 📚🌿 Our dedicated teachers have been busy gearing up for an amazing school year with some fantastic trainings! One of the highlights is Project WET, where WCS staff members had the privilege of receiving training from Sarah Baier, Education Program Specialist at Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams. During these engaging trainings, our teachers collaborated to create a series of science lessons that are sure to captivate our students' curiosity. But that's not all – they also had the incredible opportunity to explore lakes and streams throughout our county! Today's training was held at the wetlands and outdoor classroom at Leesburg Elementary. If you plan to drop off and pick up your student from the high school, please pay close attention to the map. Routes have been permanently adjusted due to new construction. Tips for a Hassle Free Drop-Off: - Follow the arrows showing traffic flow and drop off or pick up at the specific marked locations (Doors 2/3 and Door 51). - If you create your own route, it holds up the line and bogs down traffic. - Do not mix the yellow and red routes. - You can drop off all along the sidewalk; You don't have to wait until you are all the way up to the door. - Watch for pedestrians (staff) who may have to cross the line to enter the building. - Avoid having to turn left back out onto SR-15.

Not only are our new teachers spending this week preparing for the 2023-24 school year, so are our Dual Language Immersion educators! Eight English and Spanish Partner teachers from Leesburg and Eisenhower Elementary are currently at the Annual Utah Dual Immersion Institute (AUDII), helping to foster our students' language proficiency and cultural understanding! In June, three WCS administrators also attended the AUDII admin training, ensuring a seamless DLI program transition to Lakeview Middle School.
